I’ve been happily married for thirty-two years to a lovely lady who is my best friend. We have five adult kids between the ages of 22 and 31. No grandchildren yet, alas, but we have three grand-dogs. My wife and I enjoy reading, cooking, hiking, and traveling.

I’ve been a physician for over thirty years. I always enjoyed the art of medicine but not the business of medicine.

Great literature has held a special place in my heart since I was a little kid. I read voraciously in a wide variety of genres, not just the genre in which I write. My wife and I are old-school in that we prefer real books, with paper pages, to e-books (though I have both). Over the years, we’ve amassed a library of many hundreds of books.

When I was younger, I wrote quite a bit. Then came medicine, family, kids. Before I knew it, I was in my fifties. It was time to do something new. In July 2018, I completed the first draft of a young adult novel titled Beautiful.

I write every day. My second novel is out to beta readers and I’m hard at work on my third novel. I am a member of SCBWI and the Central Indiana Writers Association, and I’m part of an excellent critique group that met regularly till Covid and now is sort of virtual. They’re good people. I can’t wait till we can meet in person again. My habit of continuing education in medicine has transferred easily to books and blogs on the craft of writing.
