Beyond being a touching story, Beautiful is an inspiring tale about a remarkable young lady. The narration was refreshing as, for once, school life was told from the perspective of the school nerd and his weird friend. Usually, their stories are told from the outside by the popular learners or told by them in a way that reinforces stereotypes. But, in this instance, Eric Adolph, made these characters into multidimensional living, breathing beings. In addition to portraying the characters in a wholesome manner, Adolph explored a rarely recognized type of sexuality: sapiosexuality. The beautiful and honest way in which Adolph uncovered and explored this was breathtaking.
There is a multitude of reasons to read this book. It is wonderfully written and exceptionally well-edited. The book also has well-developed multidimensional characters that bring the story to life. There is a refreshing element to its characters and topics as they are explored in depth and with the necessary respect for the subject matter.
