Uncool Becomes Cool Again

For the record, it’s not easy to write a blog post while laughing. It probably isn’t even a good idea, but I’m a guy, so that shouldn’t stop me. Half a century ago, when I was in school, I was not one of the “cool kids.” I’m not sure I was ever a cool adult either, though perspective comes with age, and I’ve had an amazing life.

Ordinarily, I don’t think one is supposed to brag about not having a large audience on social media. Most of us don’t have many followers or subscribers or whatever they’re called, but it’s usually not something we discuss in polite company. Like dandruff or zits. Common, but not something to boast about.

With this in mind, imagine my surprise when no less an authority than The New Yorker wrote that not having followers on social media is the new cool! So now I have the subscriber data to prove I’m cool. Took me awhile, but the high school nerd finally made good!
